Marmaray Bosphorus Crossing Project: Surveying Activity and Geodetic Monitoring
نویسنده
چکیده
Original scientific paper The ongoing Marmaray Project is one of the largest transportation infrastructure projects in the world. The total length of the over ground and underground Marmaray project is 76,7 km. The first part of project is the Bosphorus Crossing (BC1) with a length of 13,6 km. The BC1 project contains the construction of three bored tunnels and immersed tunnel under the Istanbul Strait. The construction studies in the tunnels and immersing tube were completed in the beginning of 2012. The planning and design of engineering projects are the main study focus of the engineering survey which is a basic requirement for many engineering projects. This paper explains the recent advances in engineering surveying operations, such as establishing the geodetic control network, deformation monitoring and as-built surveys, in the scope of BC1 project. The experiences gained during the measurement studies are presented as a guide for similar projects that will be realized in the future.

Modeling of Optimal Distances of Surveying Stations for Monitoring Astable Engineering Structures Using Geodetic Methods
Large and astable engineering structures are the great importance and the behavior of such structures is usually made in Geotechnical and Geodetic methods (engineering geodesy). In the geodetic methods, the selection of appropriate surveying stations, in terms of distribution, locations, and distant of the target points to stations the control network, have a significant role in determining th...
متن کاملTransforming Geocentric Cartesian Coordinates to Geodetic Coordinates by a New Initial Value Calculation Paradigm
Transforming geocentric Cartesian coordinates (X, Y, Z) to geodetic curvilinear coordinates (φ, λ, h) on a biaxial ellipsoid is one of the problems used in satellite positioning, coordinates conversion between reference systems, astronomy and geodetic calculations. For this purpose, various methods including Closed-form, Vector method and Fixed-point method have been developed. In this paper, a...
متن کاملGeometrical Deformation Analysis of Gotvand-Olya Dam Using Permanent Geodetic Monitoring Network Observations
In this paper, two-dimensional deformation analysis of the Gotvand-Olya dam is done using daily, monthly, seasonal and annual displacement vectors derived from permanent observations of the dam geodetic monitoring network. The strain tensor and its invariant parameters like dilatation and maximum shear are computed as well. Nonlinear finite element interpolation based on C1 Cubic Bezier int...
متن کاملHeighting with Gps: Possibilities and Limitations
Global Positioning System (GPS) surveying is now seen as a true three dimensional tool and GPS heighting can be a viable alternative to other more conventional forms of height measurement. This paper examines the limitations and possibilities of GPS heighting. The first part of the paper details the limitations of GPS heighting, including those factors that affect the GPS height measurement its...
